Abstract

Infant Mortality Rate (AKB) is one of the indicators of health status in an area that shows the ability to provide health services, health service capacity, and community knowledge. The Infant Mortality Rate (AKB) in 2021 was 20,154 with the most causes of death being low birth weight (BBLR) of 34.5%, asphyxia of 27.8%, and other causes of death including congenital abnormalities of 12.8%, infection of 4.0%, COVID-19 of 0.5%, neonatal tetanus of 0.2%, and others of 20.2% (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022). In postpartum mothers, there are often problems during breastfeeding, one of which is insufficient milk production so that the baby does not get breast milk intake according to his needs. Babies who do not get enough breast milk can develop hyperbilirubin which can lead to complications. Based on these cases, Continuity of Care care  can be combined with implementing complementary care.

The complementary technique provided is oxytocin massage to help increase breast milk production, in addition to increasing milk production, oxytocin massage also makes postpartum mothers relax and comfortable after spending a lot of energy for the delivery process. This study uses a qualitative method with a comprehensive case study approach or Continuity of Care which is carried out continuously from pregnancy to postpartum period. In carrying out this Continuity Of Care care, a  complementary technique is applied, namely oxytocin massage on postpartum mothers. After the oxytocin massage was obtained, the results of increased milk production were obtained, the mother felt relaxed and comfortable.
