THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MASSAGE EFFLEURAGE AS AN EFFORT TO REDUCE THE INTENSITY OF PAIN IN MATERNITY DURING THE FIRST ACTIVE PHASE

Abstract
Background: Labor pain is a physiological process experienced by almost all mothers due to uterine contraction and cervical dilatation. Untreated pain can cause anxiety, tension, fatigue, as well as interfere with the mother's comfort during the labor process.
Objective: This study is to apply massage effleurage to reduce labor pain during the first period in Mrs. N at TPMB Catur Eni Prihatin.
Method : In this study, the method used is a case study with a descriptive approach on the first phase of active childbirth.
Results: showed that after massage effleurage, there was a decrease in the pain scale from 6 to 4, the mother appeared more relaxed, comfortable, and able to adapt to contractions better. Childbirth takes place physiologically without complications until the baby is born in good condition.
Conclusion: that massage effleurage is able to help reduce the intensity of labor pain during the first period of contraction from scale 6 to scale 4. Massage effleurage can be used as complementary therapy in obstetric services to improve maternal comfort during the delivery process.
